The time has come.

The return of the season of the witch.

But this year, there's only one thing to fear... BIG FLYING METAL BALLS WITH SHARP KNIVES ON THEM!

And when we talk about big flying metal balls with sharp knives on them, you know that can only mean 1-5 things, the first of which is 1979's weirdo horror/scifi cult classic PHANTASM.

Orphaned brothers Mike and Jody have recently lost a friend to mysterious circumstances, and their small-town circle of friends is reeling. Older brother Jody wants to skip their dead-end town, potentially abandoning younger brother Mike to the care of family friend Reggie, a good-natured ice-cream man. Shortly after their friend's funeral, as Mike putters around the graveyard, he sees the undertaker pick up an entire coffin with his bare hands! Over the next few days, Mike sees increasingly stranger sights as he investigates just who this Tall Man really is.

Starring A. Michael Baldwin (no relation), Reggie Bannister, and Angus Scrimm, Don Coscarelli's original nightmare ride is filled with evil grave robbers, strange murderous Jawas, yellow goo, and motor mayhem! It's a hallmark of late-70s horror filled with homemade practical effects and a wild independent spirit. If you come out of it not knowing what the hell just happened, watch the next four and try to figure it out!
